How to Pack a Greyhound with Camping Gear
This was the first time we took our greyhound Stretch camping with us and it was a success. We have some plans and we wanted to see if he could be a part of them so we did an overnighter at a state park a few hours down the road.
We had to look at the stuff we normally bring camping and tried to put the puzzle together to not only have enough for an overnighter but test how much we may need for longer trips.
We forgot a few items like a dedicated food bowl for him but we used an extra pot in our cooking gear. Other items we forgot was paper towels, a sponge or steel wool for cleaning (used napkins instead, Moleskine (almost blistered my heal), and games (the hiking trails at Big Hill Pond State Park were not marked well so we found ourselves with nothing to do for an afternoon but drove 45 minutes away to Shiloh Military Park to kill some time).
We did a good job not overpacking and this is what we brought:
2 Coolers - one for putting food and drinks on ice and one for food and water that didn’t need ice. Using a cooler kept it from getting to hot and from Stretch.
